Werewolves and other werekin do not all derive from the same kind of curse. Among the varieties of werekin there are those cursed by magic and those who willing take on the curse by wearing objects. Still others are transformed by way of ointments, and finally, others are born with the animal nature already coursing through them.
Those cursed to transform are very similar to those born as weres. They are more likely to act on their animal natures, making them easy to pick out among humans. A knowledgeable werewolf hunter will pick up on these animal symptoms, such as frequent use of puppy dog eyes, whimpering for snacks, leg humping, and drinking from the toilet.
Those who transform via an ointment or potion are better at curbing these animal urges, but the user may notice other discomforting side effects, such as dry mouth, fever, slick palms, an overwhelming urge to masturbate in public, and rashes of huge genital bumps commonly referred to as wolf warts.
